Phil Humphreys bought his first Cushman in 1956. This purchase became a passion that Phil has continued to pursue. After 42 years in the lawn mower business, Phil now pursues his passion full time. He spends his days trying to figure out how to make the old Cushman models better and safer while maintaining their original look and feel. Starting out with an electric start for the flat head engine that is hardly noticeable to the untrained eye, Phil has continued to work to develop state of the art parts for his beloved Cushman scooters including safer brakes, new high performance pistons, rods and crankshafts, and even fork steering bearings.

While manufacturing these high performance parts, Phil is constantly considering the rider. It needs to be stated that these parts aren’t for the collector who is going to hide his scooter in the shed; these parts are designed for the rider who, like Phil, gets extreme enjoyment from feeling the wind in his or her hair and is looking to always better that experience.
